FAQ

What is Reload?

Reload is a service that binds your digital assest wallet to your exchange account: whenever you spend the asset from your wallet, Reload will use your exchange account to immediately repurchase the same amount of said asset.

Which digital assets are supported?

Reload currently supports Bitcoin (BTC) and Dash (DASH).

What do I need to use it?

You need to provide two things: your wallet public address, and API credentials that you obtain at your exchange. You’ll also need an e-mail address to register. This is all the information we’ll ever require from you.

What is my wallet public address?

This is the address you use to receive funds in your wallet. Be careful though: only single-address wallets are currently supported. This means not HD wallets.

What are my API credentials?

These are a few pieces of data that function as a username and password and enable Reload to purchase assets for you using your exchange account. You get these at your exchange account; see here for details.

I don’t want to give you access to my funds. How can I make sure the API access that I grant you won’t be abused?

You can (and should!) always avoid giving Reload withdrawal permissions when you set up your API keys. You also can and should limit the permissions you assign to Reload to the minimum that still enables Reload’s features that you require and that you are still comfortable with regarding your privacy. Please see the API permissions page for details.

What is 'unloading' then?

'Unloading' is an advanced feature where incomming transactions trigger sell orders on exchange. This feature requires a Pro user account.

What is a Pro user?

Pro users pay monthly subscription fee. Mostly ATM operators and professional resellers opt for it. They get SAL (Service Level Agreement) and some advanced feature like 'únloading'. If you're interested, get in contact with us and we'll talk details. Most Reload users use it for free though.

What is a Reload?

A Reload is basically a link between one of your wallets and your exchange account. A Reload consists of the public address of the wallet or direct connection (BitGo, localbitcoins), and exchange API credentials.

Can I use multiple wallets with Bitnik Reload?

Sure. Just create a Reload for each wallet.

Can I use the same exchange account for different wallets?

Yes: just create several Reloads, one per wallet. After you’ve entered the API credentials for the first Reload, you’ll be able to simply select them from a drop-down list when you create the subsequent Reloads.

Can I use different exchange accounts for different wallets?

Yes: simply enter different API credentials for each Reload. However, a single Reload is associated with a single exchange credential set at any given time.

Can I use multiple exchange accounts with the same wallet?

You can always change the exchange account that you use for a given wallet by editing the wallet’s Reload. Purchase history from the previous exchange will be kept intact. A single Reload is associated with a single exchange credential set at any given time.

Is the exchange trade fee for rebuy included in reported fiat amount?

Yes.

Does Bitnik Reload send repurchased assets to my wallet?

No, you should do this yourself. We never have the ability to move your funds if you set up your API keys correctly; see this document for details.

Does Bitnik Reload take care of funding my exchange account with fiat balance?

No. You should take care of this yourself.

What happens if my balance at the exchange is too low?

Bitnik Reload will keep trying until there is enough fiat funds. This means you can deposit fiat money after you make a transaction, and it will still be rebought. Note that the price of asset at the exchange might change in the meantime.

What should I do if there is a pending transaction that I don’t want repurchased at the exchange?

You can enable/disable it for each transaction in Realod.

Go Bitcoin!

Can I disable a Reload? What happens when I do?

You can disable a Reload by clicking the ON/OFF slider next to the Reload’s name. This has two consequences:

Go Bitcoin!

How do I stop Reload from retrying with an order that won't go through?

Cancel the open order on the exchange and reload will no longer try to rebuy. Alternatively you can disable repurchasing for this transaction in Reload, but this will only prevent retrys, it will not cancel current order already placed on exchange.

Go Bitcoin!

What if the spend was below minimal trade limit for rebuy?

Reload will not trade until sum of open spends exceeds limit and will wait for further transactions.

Go Bitcoin!

What if there is an error communicating with exchange API?

Reload will retry later and do so until it succeeds.

Go Bitcoin!

What if the trade order is not executed immediately and the asset price starts to rise?

Reload will readjust the price regularly. This can only happen very rarely in very volatile market conditions.
